Mayor Peter Gandolfi has announced that Council has extended the competition seeking two photographs to star at each end of the Millicent bypass.
Photographers are being asked to enter a special category in this year’s Wattle Range Photographic Competition & Exhibition to replace the images on pictorial signage on the approach to Millicent via Mount Gambier and Adelaide roads. Entries for this category of the competition are being extended to Friday, 28 September.
Mr Gandolfi said Council is looking for iconic images that depict the great places to visit in Millicent. Unfortunately poor weather conditions within the timeframe for entries into this category has prevented photographers from creating dynamic bright images displaying the real essence of Millicent.
“A postcard perfect image is what Council is looking for to replace the tired and ageing entrance sign images, and the competition is a perfect opportunity for locals to showcase their talents and the town,”
“Entries in this category will have the opportunity to be featured on the signs that welcome people into the town. Images should showcase not only what makes Millicent a ‘must’ for tourists to visit but also what the locals love about their home town.”
Photographs need to be in full colour and horizontal/landscape in orientation. The winning entry will receive a prize of $250.
Contact the Millicent Library on 8733 0903 for entry details.
