Ballot papers for the 2018 Local Government elections were distributed by the Electoral Commission SA via post last week.
“It’s time for the community to vote for who they feel will best represent them,” Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Ben Gower said.
“Individuals who are on the state electoral roll or had completed an enrolment for the Council’s supplementary roll should have received their ballot packs last week.
“Electors should refer to their Postal Voting Guide, included in their ballot pack, on how to complete and return their ballot papers. Once they have completed their ballot papers, they should be mailed as soon as possible to ensure they reach the Returning Officer by close of voting. Votes must be received by the Returning Officer by close voting at 5pm on Friday, 9 November 2018.
“Anyone concerned that they may not get their voting material in the post in time to make the close of polls, is encouraged to place it in the ballot boxes provided at each of the Council Offices (Millicent, Penola or Beachport), which will be open until 5pm Friday, November 9.
“If you did not receive your voting pack or are missing items call the Electoral Commission SAs Voting Hotline on 1300 655 232 for replacement material to be sent to you" Mr Gower added.
